12 Photos of the LEGO Funeral Home and Cemetery

This from the Funetorium:

Darren Bedford from Ontario has hand built this funeral Lego display over the last 2.5 years. It has been set up at PCS Micro Meet in Flint, MI the last two February meets, having grown substantially between them.

Darren has spent over $4k on it and has even gone far enough as having faces printed to fit different scenes.

Crestone: The Place in Colorado Where You Can Cremate Your Loved One on an Outdoor Pyre

This from Crestone’s website:

Crestone End of Life Project operates one of the only legal, open-air cremation sites in the state of Colorado. This ancient and inspirational end-of-life choice returns the body to its original fire and air elements. The process involves a pyre, a half-cord of wood, a wooden stretcher and a shroud. The family or friends of the deceased work together with CEOLP staff to plan the ceremony, and various teams from our organization are trained to produce a deeply meaningful context for marking the passage of a loved one into death.

(In the last photo) Randy Ellis, 51, uses a torch to begin the cremation of his wife, Belinda Ellis, 48, in Crestone, Colo. Moments earlier, relatives placed juniper boughs and logs on her body to prepare for the outdoor cremation. Funeral industry officials say Crestone is the only place in the U.S. where funeral pyres are performed for people regardless of religion.  Via NBCNews
